After the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda was congratulated by the Arewa Christian Youth Leadership Forum (ACYLF) on becoming the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group praised Yilwatda’s appointment as a significant step toward the political inclusion of Northern Christians and a tactical shift for the ruling party, calling him a “distinguished technocrat, patriot, and proud son of Plateau State.”
The ACYLF said in a statement signed by its National Chairman, Dunijir Gatama, that Professor Yilwatda, a digital governance specialist and former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, contributes “a wealth of experience, innovation, and generational insight” to the APC’s leadership.

The statement reads, “This appointment is a bold and strategic recalibration of leadership within the APC—it is not just a routine political reshuffle.” “It demonstrates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership and his determination to modernize the party by bringing in capable, young, and forward-thinking leaders.”
ACYLF also took advantage of the occasion to praise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his concerted efforts to promote religious parity and national integration in federal appointments.
The group underlined that Professor Yilwatda’s appointment further reflects the President’s commitment to inclusive governance, citing the prior appointments of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defense Staff and Senator George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The group declared, “These appointments have restored hope and trust in the democratic process and are monumental for our community.” “They convey a strong and unambiguous message that minority voices, especially those of Northern Christians, are not only valued but also essential to the Nigerian project.”
