After fainting during sexual relations with a female student, age 22, in a hotel room, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, a senior lecturer at Kogi State University, Anyigba, has been officially declared dead.
The crime occurred on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, according to the information gathered, and the Anyigba Police Division was notified the next day.
According to reports, the student, Gloria Samuel, a 200-level Social Studies Education student, and the instructor, who was employed by the university’s Faculty of Education, checked into a hotel together.
He reportedly took numerous energy drinks before collapsing during their time together in the room, according to accounts gathered.
After the incident, the student hurried to the reception for assistance, and the hotel manager sounded an alert.
A doctor on duty later confirmed the lecturer’s death after the police, who had been alerted promptly, arrived at the hotel to take him to a hospital.
The case is now under the jurisdiction of the Kogi State Police Command.
Following the student’s detention, they were sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department to be questioned further.

Although the results of the autopsy have not been made public, police stated it has been conducted.
Therefore, the girl in question has been moved to the State CID for additional investigation and prosecution from the Anyigba Police Division. The Command’s spokeswoman, SP William Ovye Aya, told Sahara Reporters, “An autopsy has been conducted, but I haven’t spoken with the SCID, so I don’t know whether the results are out right now.”
On campus, Dr. Ibikunle was very stern and had a wife and kids.
