APC Knocks ADC: Your Coalition Isn’t Strategic, Just Imitation

According to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the alliance of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is attempting to emulate the ruling party’s successful 2013 merger.
The APC rejected the coalition, arguing that it could not be compared to a 2014 strategic political merger in which the late Muhammadu Buhari’s Congress for Progressive Change, Atiku Abubakar’s New PDP, the now-defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, led by Bola Tinubu, and others united to form the APC.
In an interview with Punch, Ijeoma Arodiogbu, the National Vice Chairman of the APC (South-East), characterized the alliance as “a coalition of strange bedfellows” that lacked the depth, structure, and strategy that helped the APC come to power more than ten years ago.

Why should people relocating to the ADC cause us concern? Name these people, please. He stated, “There is no reason for concern unless our major leaders, APC governors, or lawmakers are defecting.”

According to him, the 2013 merger was strong because of Tinubu’s years of political mentoring and the formation of strategic alliances, which were supported by Buhari’s widespread support in the north from more than 12 million devoted voters.

On the other hand, he claimed that the ADC was just a collection of disgruntled politicians who lacked an electoral basis or ideological ties.

Their only goal is to replicate our actions. Tinubu developed and raised people all around the nation. Because of his reputation and vision, he drew in governors and legislators. They are acting in a desperate attempt to seize power, not strategically, Arodiogbu stated.

He went on to say, “The majority of people joining the ADC are internally displaced PDP and Labour Party leaders who were unable to find employment in their previous platforms.

The APC, meanwhile, is winning more governors and lawmakers every day. There are more people publicly declaring for us, even on the parliamentary floor.

The APC leader also made fun of Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, implying that his dissatisfaction with not being included in Tinubu’s cabinet was the reason behind his affiliation with the ADC.

“Do we even need to discuss individuals like El-Rufai?” he asked. The fact that he was not appointed as a minister is his only complaint. Such behavior is entitlement, not ideology. What other members of the coalition are worthy of our attention besides him?

Arodiogbu went on to emphasize Tinubu’s economic goals and reform program, emphasizing that the president was still dedicated to rolling back previous abuses and safeguarding Nigeria’s financial future.

“We cannot continue with the old ways,” President Tinubu stated when he took office. Eliminating waste and leaks is his main goal. He pointed out, “That’s what separates us from those posing as an alternative.”
