Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final on Sunday night, July 13.
Cole Palmer scored two goals in the first half of the Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium in the United States, and João Pedro secured the victory with a chip.
From the start, it was evident that Chelsea had come not only to compete, but to win. Fans in the crowded stadium were already buzzing, with some brandishing cheeky pictures of Ousmane Dembélé winning the Ballon d’Or before the game began, but the Blues stole the show.

Cole Palmer lit up the scoreboard in the 22nd minute. Following a period of pressure, he calmly fired a low shot into the bottom left corner, leaving Gianluigi Donnarumma defenseless.

Eight minutes later, Palmer was back at it, this time increasing Chelsea’s lead with a controlled finish that had PSG’s defence scrambling. The score in the 30th minute elicited ecstatic reactions from Chelsea fans and panicked PSG.

Palmer provided an assist to João Pedro shortly before halftime. In the 43rd minute, the Brazilian striker answered with a wonderful chip over the onrushing Donnarumma, making it 3-0. By halftime, the damage had been done.

During the half-time break, Nigerian music star Tems performed his hit song, Love Me Jeje, for the audience, which included US President Donald Trump.

In the second half, PSG sought to fight back with João Neves and Kvaratskhelia threatening from distance, but Robert Sanchez proved impenetrable.

The Spanish goalkeeper made a series of stunning stops, including blocking Neves’ header early in the half and reacting quickly to Dembélé’s thunderous drive moments later.

In the 85th minute, João Neves was sent off for tugging Marc Cucurella’s hair following a touchline brawl, exacerbating the Parisians’ poor performance.

Chelsea’s discipline, structure, and creative flair were too much for a disjointed PSG team that never found rhythm. The Blues were strong in defence, fluid in attack, and tireless in transition.

Cole Palmer was named Man of the Match after scoring two goals and providing one assist.
