Bye-Elections: Senate Aspirants to Pay N20m, Reps N10m for APC Nomination Forms

In order to encourage people to run in the 2025 bye-elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set the price of the forms.
As per the schedule announced on Monday and signed by Sulaiman Argungu, the party’s National Organising Secretary, candidates for Senate seats would pay ₦20 million, while those running for House of Representatives seats will pay ₦10 million.
The Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Senate cost ₦3 million and ₦17 million, respectively.

The Expression of Interest and the Nomination Form cost ₦1 million and ₦9 million, respectively, for candidates running for the House of Representatives.

If you want to run for the State House of Assembly, you will need to spend ₦2 million, which is made up of ₦1.5 million for nomination and ₦500,000 for expression of interest.
The Expression of Interest Form will be the only requirement for women and those with disabilities, according to the APC. They will be provided with the Nomination Form at no cost.

Young people between the ages of 25 and 40 will also receive a 50% reduction on the cost of the nomination form.

Delegates who wish to cast a ballot in the party primary elections must be financially enrolled members who have paid ₦200 a month for at least three months. Delegate forms will cost five thousand naira.

The only people who can run for office or cast a ballot are those whose names are on the membership record and who have paid their dues for at least a year until July 2025, Argungu also reminded members.

Vital Dates to Remember
Key dates included in the APC schedule are as follows:

Announcement of election to state chapters on June 30 (Monday)
Membership revalidation and form sales are scheduled for July 1–5.
Monday, July 7 is the deadline for submitting the form.
Aspirant screening on Thursday, July 10
Party primaries are held from July 22 to July 26. The final list of candidates is released on July 26.
The campaign period is July 26–August 14
Saturday, August 16: Bye-elections
In the statement issued on Monday, Argungu also gave party members his word that the procedure will be open and compliant with the law.

“We are dedicated to holding transparent primaries that adhere to the Electoral Act,” the APC leader declared.

He advised every candidate to abide by the guidelines, make sure they are registered correctly, and keep their finances current.
