Osimhen Saga Worries Galatasaray, Chelsea Drops Maignan Move

The uncertainty of Victor Osimhen contemplating a permanent transfer to the Turkish champions has angered Galatasaray’s vice president, Abdullah Kavukcu.
Osimhen was also cautioned by Kavukcu that his uncertainty would soon force the club to look into other options.
On loan at Galatasaray, the Nigerian striker had an incredible 2024–2025 season, helping Okan Buruk’s team win the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup with 37 goals and eight assists in 41 games.

As they continue to press for his signature, Galatasaray has reportedly put out a huge offer that is higher than what the majority of European clubs have put up.

Though he has also rejected offers from the Saudi team Al-Hilal, Osimhen has postponed making a definitive choice over his future while on vacation in Nigeria.
Time is running short, but he’s keeping us waiting,” Kavukcu remarked. “We have given him figures that are higher than those that have been suggested in Europe.”

In the meantime, Chelsea has formally withdrawn from any possible agreement to acquire AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan in England.

At least two of Chelsea’s four goalkeepers—Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, and Mike Penders—will leave this summer.

In an effort to balance the roster and provide playing time elsewhere, one is anticipated to go on loan to Strasbourg, a Ligue 1 team.

Chelsea was offered Maignan earlier in the transfer season, but the club left the talks without submitting a formal proposal. Currently, manager Enzo Maresca has little possibility of acquiring a new goalkeeper this summer.
