The various forms of insecurity bedeviling Nigeria would soon become a thing of the past.

Special Guest Of Honour ànd Reviewing Officer, 78th Regular Recruits Intake, Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin gave the assurance at the passing out parade held at the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria on Saturday October 19, 2019, while delivering his address.

“Nigeria facing various security challenges, occasioned by Boko Haram, banditry and kidnapping. The security challenges will soon come to an end as we will not rest on our oars,” he assured.

He said that Depot Nigerian Army has been bringing innovative ways into training of Army personnel that is yielding positive results in the various theatres of operations.

“The brilliant displays in various theatre of operations as a result of innovations at the Depot Nigerian Army,” he said.

He urged the new recruits to remain focused and dedicated.

“Avoid any acts capable of tarnishing image of Nigerian Army and the nation in general,” he said.

He congratulated them on the completion of their training and welcomed them into the military.

“Do your utmost best in sustaining values obtained in training. I urge you to retain mental, physical and moral training given to you in this institution.

“I therefore, urge you not to relent but improve on your competencies by attending other courses,” he advised.

Special awards were presented to recruits, some of which are; Chief of Army Staff Award, which went to Recruit Suleiman Ismail (Alpha Company).

Chief of Administration Award was presented to Recruit Igwe Grace ( Alpha Company), while Commandant Depot Nigerian Army Award went to Recruit Isa Tohi (Charlie Company).

Several dignitaries attended the POP, notable among whom were Governor Nasir el-Rufai, represented by the Kaduna State Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Honourable Samuel Aruwan, representatives of governors of Katsina and Kano states.

Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai and the Commandant Depot Nigerian Army, Major General Sani Mohammed were also visibly present.
