Flying Eagles Will Beat Kenya – Coach Aliyu Zubairu Predicts

Aliyu Zubairu, the Flying Eagles’ head coach, has stated his team’s intention to win decisively against Kenya on Wednesday, May 7.
The Flying Eagles will play their final Group B match at the 2025 Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations. It will take held at Cairo’s Air Defence Stadium on June 30.
A win will advance Zubairu and his team to the next round of the competition, as they continue their quest for a record-extending eighth continental title.

In their previous match, Morocco held the seven-time champions to a frustrating 0-0 stalemate, leaving them in second place in the group with four points from two games played.

The Flying Eagles must secure all three points against Kenya, who presently have no points and are at the bottom of the group.
“We will approach the game against Kenya with optimism and confidence,” Zubairu said following the draw with Morocco.

“Despite their struggles in this tournament, they are a capable team, and we must treat them with the utmost respect. Our focus will be on maintaining high levels of concentration to ensure we earn the three points required to proceed to the quarter-finals.”

Meanwhile, Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi reacted on his team’s hard-fought draw with Morocco, recognizing the difficulties they encountered during the game.

The team started strong, displaying their skills and imposing dominance in the first half; however, the Moroccans rallied and controlled much of the second half, resulting in a tense scenario on the pitch.

Bameyi praised both his teammates and the other side, stating, “It was an intense and fierce encounter, and I believe the result appropriately reflects the war we fought. We are grateful to God for the point we gained. It was critical for our morale as we gear up for the vital match against Kenya.”
