‘Coalition You’re Cobbling With El-Rufai, Babachir, Others Has Disintegrated’ – Presidency Mocks Atiku

According to the president, Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, has a dismal political future.
According to reports, the statement was made by Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, in response to Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP’s 2023 vice presidential candidate, defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Earlier, after the PDP governors disassociated themselves from Atiku’s coalition plan and the now-defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) reaffirmed their allegiance to President Bola Tinubu, Tinubu’s assistant, Tunde Rahman, implied in a post via X that the strategy is doomed to fail.
“For the coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, things are really getting dangerous and the future looks so bleak,” he said. The former CPC wing, which he also relies on, has expressed support for President Tinubu after the PDP Governors cleared their hands of any such coalition arrangement.

He had his biggest shocker to date today. Former Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa, his running mate for the 2023 election, and Okowa’s successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, abandoned the sinking PDP ship, boarded the APC aircraft, and presumably switched to the PBAT side. In fact, the process of tallying the number of PDP governors who have switched to the APC has started.

In response, Onanuga called Atiku a bitter loser and emphasized that his alliance with Northern politicians and Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, had fallen apart.

Atiku’s political future appears gloomy, he claimed. The coalition that he, Babachir, El Rufai, and the newcomer Baba-Ahmed were scheming to form has fallen apart.

Potential supporters are ignoring his leprous bunch, including erstwhile running mate Ifeanyi Okowa and former CPC members. Once more, Atiku is a failure.
