Nigerians have been urged by the mother of music legend Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage as 2face, to distance herself from Edo State politician Natasha Osawaru.
In a heartfelt video that went viral, Mrs. Rose Idibia urged mothers everywhere to step in and blamed her son’s behavior on the psychological effects of his protracted divorce from Annie Idibia.
The video included her saying, “Good evening, Nigerians.” 2face’s mother, Mrs. Rose Idibia, is my name. This is a message for Edo State’s Miss Natasha Osawaru. I’m pleading with all Nigerian mothers to assist me in begging her to release my son.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and it’s obvious that he’s lost his mind at this point. I am familiar with my son. He’s not like that.
“Please, Natasha, take off the beads you put on his neck and hand so he can be free.”
The tearful appeal reportedly followed the release of a video purporting to show 2face popping the question to Osawaru at a private gathering.

2face responded to the criticism by addressing rumors on Instagram and reaffirming his support for Osawaru, saying, “I’ve seen false narratives spreading.” Hon. Natasha doesn’t break into houses. My problems with Annie had nothing to do with her. I want to marry her because I adore her.
Mrs. Idibia’s appeal has not yet received a response from Natasha Osawaru, who was elected by the PDP in 2023 to the Edo State House of Assembly for the Egor Constituency.
Online, there have been strong reactions to the matter, with people lining up in favor of 2face and Mrs. Idibia. The drama continues to split the people.
