According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), admission to eight law schools has been halted.
According to JAMB, the reason for this is that the Council of Legal Education (CLE) recently halted the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) program at the impacted institutions for breaking regulatory processes.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the JAMB spokesperson, named the impacted universities as Western Delta University in Oghara, Delta State; Redeemers University in Ede, Osun State; Bingham University in Karu, Nasarawa State; and Kwara State University in Malete, Ilorin.
The Nigerian Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University in Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State; Arthur Jarvis University in Akpabuyo, Cross River State; and Taraba State University in Jalingo are the other schools impacted.

Seven of the institutions would only be suspended for the 2025–2026 academic year, while the Nigerian Police Academy will be suspended until the 2026–2027 academic year, according to JAMB.
“Therefore, JAMB will not authorize any admissions for candidates wishing to enroll in the Law program at the aforementioned universities for the 2025/2026 academic session,” Benjamin stated.
