Makinde Approves Prince Owoade’s Ascension as Alaafin of Oyo

The appointment of Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo has been approved by Mr. Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State.

According to a statement from Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Owoade was proposed by the Oyomesi and accepted by Governor Makinde following extensive deliberations and divinations.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ademola Ojo, has released a statement to this effect, according to the commissioner, who claims that the announcement has resolved all legal and sociopolitical disputes that have arisen since Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III passed away on April 22, 2022.

Ojo urged everyone in Oyo State to support the new Alaafin of Oyo and help the government celebrate this historic occasion.

The commissioner hoped that peace, prosperity, and unity would be brought to the ancient Oyo Kingdom during his rule.
