A murder suspect named Destiny Lawrence has been taken into custody by Delta State Police Command in relation to the killing of Progress Ifeanyi, an eight-year-old kid, in the Owa-Alero village.
In the police’s custody, the suspect is currently cooling off.
In addition, the police have begun a manhunt for a fugitive native physician named Jonah, who hired the apprehended suspect to transport the dead youngster to him in exchange for N30,000.
This was revealed in a statement by SP Bright Edafe, the police public relations officer.
According to the police image maker, on November 23, 2024, a resident of Owa-Alero (name withheld) reported that his 8-year-old son, Progress Ifeanyi, had vanished. The last word they had received was that one of their regular customers, Destiny Lawrence, had taken him away.

“But when he noticed his son was missing, he asked said Destiny, who denied knowing his son’s whereabouts.”
But later that day, Edafe claims, “his son’s body was discovered in an incomplete building, and some of his body parts were missing.”
After being taken into custody, the suspect, Destiny Lawrence, admitted during questioning that he had been hired by a native doctor from the Otolokpo village named Jonah to find a young child for him in exchange for N30,000.
“The native doctor then led the deceased to an incomplete building and slit his throat after he had enticed him to where he was waiting.”
“The suspect is in custody while a manhunt for the fugitive native doctor is ongoing,” Edafe continued.
