The Nigerian Army’s 8 Division troops, who were assigned to “Operation Fasan Gamma,” have demolished 22 Lakurawa terrorist camps in the states of Sokoto and Kebbi.

Along with neutralizing many terrorists, the troops also retrieved four weapons and 409 rounds of ammunition for PKT, 7.62mm, NATO, and 7.62mm special rounds.

Troops had conducted preparatory and shaping operations into the banditti enclaves and woodlands prior to the development.

Rumji Dutse, east of Sarma, Tusauna, Bauni, Malgatawa, Gargao, Tsauna, Mafara, Kaideji, Nakuru, Sama, Sanyinna, Kaididda, Kolo, and Dancha villages in the Illela, Tangaza, and Bingo local government areas of Sokoto State, are the forests where the forces confronted the terrorists.

Remember how General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defense Staff, sent a Special Operations Brigade to the states of Sokoto and Kebbi?

The deployment is intended to build on the accomplishments of the current preparatory operation, which is part of Operation Forest Sanity III and aims to eliminate the terrorists from Lakurawa.

Speaking to the troops, Brigadier General Ibikunle Ajose, the General Officer Commanding, 8 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander, Sector 2 Operation Fasan Yamma, issued an order for the complete annihilation of the Lakurawa sect on behalf of Major General Oluyinka Soyele, the Theatre Commander, Operation Fasan Gamma.

He ordered the soldiers to safeguard law-abiding residents’ lives and property while adhering to the rules of engagement.

He claims that because the troops have been chosen and prepared for the task, Nigerians are relying on their professionalism and competence to drive out the Lakurawa.

He continued by saying, “The Brigade’s deployment will be an additional impetus in frustrating the bandits’ activities and restoring normalcy to the affected communities and North-West in general.”
