Kaduna raid: El-Rufai’s son speaks out on EFCC involvement

The oldest son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello, has denied reports that members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, stormed his Kaduna home and discovered cash in various currencies.

According to the rumors, the EFCC found N700 billion in cash, N800 million in drugs, and N1 trillion at his Kaduna home.

Bello called the accusations “false” and a deliberate attempt to divert his attention from his public service in a statement released on Wednesday.

Additionally, he clarified that their family home is located in Unguwar Sarki and disputed that he owns a residence in Kaduna.

“My constituents that I represent know what would happen if I was blessed with such figures,” Bello said in his statement.

“I promise those who are funding these naive attacks that we will keep helping the people and enjoying how it irritates them; adding high-quality, candid, and honest representation is here to stay in Kaduna North.”

“The attempt to link him to illegal activities through baseless accusations was not only defamatory but also an affront to the principles of justice and fairness, as evidenced by the use of fake news to sway public opinion and sow discord.”
