No rift between Police, Army – GOC 3 Div

The Commandant Police Staff College Jos AIG Shola David has praised the Nigerian Army particularly the 3 Armoured Division for maintaining peace in Plateau State and its environs.

The Commandant gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division Major General Nuhu Angbazo.

He expressed readiness to build on the existing synergy between 3 Division and the Staff College which is known to be the Apex Training Institution of the Nigerian Police.

The visit is coming few weeks after the Taraba incident and the aftermath tension created between the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Army.

The Commandant who formally introduced himself to the GOC, having assumed office recently, was full of appreciation as he was informed by his predecessor that Officers of the Division, based GOC’s directive, do visits the College as guest lecturers or resource persons, a gesture he passionately appealed to be sustained.

He also said he is optimistic that his visit will further create better level of cooperation between 3 Division, the College and Nigerian Police in general.

General Angbazo in his response, thanked the Commandant for initiating the strategic visit which he said will pass a message to personnel of both organization and the general public that there is no rancour between the Army and the Police.

He stated that there has been cordial relationship between 3 Division, the Police and other Security Agencies within the 3 Division Area of Responsibility. The cordial relationship he said was orchestrated by his regular interaction with Heads of Security Agencies both at the local and state government level whenever he embarked on operational tour.

Therefore, he emphasized that 3 Division will always do everything possible to sustain synergy among security agencies so as to guarantee required peaceful atmosphere for law abiding citizens to go about their legitimate businesses.
