More than nine million Nigerians have benefited from the program, according to the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES).

On Friday in Akure, during the program’s fifth Zonal Peer Learning and Experience Sharing Event, Dr. Abdulkarim Obaje, the National Coordinator of NG-CARES, made this announcement.

Obaje conveyed optimism that the program will end poverty and bring about constructive change in Nigerian culture.

Well over 9 million people have benefited from the intervention.

The state and federal governments of Nigeria will get assistance from NG-CARES in their efforts to end poverty.

In order to reach more Nigerians who are at risk, the program’s scope has been altered. It’s performed incredibly well, too.

State governors’ requests for more funding, which has also been authorized to the tune of $500 million, from the World Bank through the federal government is a sign of how successfully it has performed.

“We are relocating zonally between states and communicating with the recipients at the same time. Numerous recipients are sharing their experiences with us regarding the benefits they have received from the NG-CARES initiative.

According to what he said, “sharing learning experiences is the purpose of this learning event, as has been repeatedly stated.”

For investing more than N150 billion in the program, he praised the nation’s state governments.

“Not only have we surpassed this target, but we have also surpassed every goal that was initially established for us. For what reason? because this is an investment made by state governments themselves using their own funds.

Acceptability and belief in the framework we have established are demonstrated by it.

“To ensure the survival of the impoverished in Nigeria, we require increased financial support from both the federal and state governments,” he declared.

Dr Lire Ersado, the World Bank’s Task Team Leader for NG-Cares, reported that the organization has invested $750 million in the initiative.

The project had an impact on many Nigerians’ lives, according to Ersado, who was represented by Prof. Foluso Okunmadewa, the former Task Team Lead, World Bank. (Nan)
