As part of activities marking the 2019 Nigerian Army Day Celebrations, officers and men of the Nigerian Army have conducted sanitation exercises at Idumota market, Lagos island, Sabo Ikorodo and Ipodo Ikeja areas of Lagos State.
Army personnel were in the early hours of Saturday seen clearing and sweeping the areas of dirt’s, refuse dumbs, gutters and excavation and evacuation of blocked drainages and gutters in the above stated locations.
Television Nigerian observed many senior Army officers and soldiers especially from 81 Division Area of Responsibility are on the ground patriotically performing the annual exercise to the admiration and commendation of the public.
Spectators who spoke to our correspondent attested that indeed, the Nigerian Army under the effective leadership of Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai is the peoples’ army.
Also 82 Division Enugu early today troops came out emmass to clean and cleared water passage, weeded grasses and swept NewHaven General area. It was the same activities in 6 Division Nigerian Army where troops in an uncommon commitment cleared Ruomokoro in Abia/Akpor LGA of Rivers State.
