Deputy National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Nze Duru, has expressed sadness over the demise of the federal lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The businessman-turned-politician died on Saturday in London, United Kingdom, at the age of 52.
In a condolence message issued on Sunday, Duru lamented that Ubah announced his departure when his intellectual and political prowess were most needed.
He said the late senator was a great patriot, compassionate leader, and democrat.
“His life was marked by an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria. He was a politician par excellence, a shrewd businessman, a philanthropist, a grassroots mobiliser, and a lover of his people.
“His legacies of service delivery to the good people of Anambra State and Nigeria at large, through the provision of scholarships for students, free healthcare, and support for the less privileged, will live forever. May God grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the statement added.
