The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has blamed the latest crisis in fuel supply and distribution across the country on a problem associated with the discharge of a couple of vessels at the seaports.
The NNPCL Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
He was reacting to the latest queues seen in some parts of Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Soneye said: “The NNPC Ltd. wishes to state that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.”
He said the company was working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations.
