Some of the Nigerian football players who formerly competed in the top five European leagues (Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, and the Premier League) have been demoted and are now playing in the second level of football. These divisions include Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1, and the Premier League.
Unfortunately, the majority of the world’s best players are now playing for the Nigeria national team, which is known as the Super Eagles. Unfortunately, the Super Eagles have not been able to live up to their reputation and fly like the bird that they are named after in recent years.
The following is a list of eight names that have been given the disgrace of being demoted.
Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, both of whom play for Leicester, were important contributors to the team’s eighth-place finish in the 2021/22 season, but they were unable to prevent Leicester from being relegated this season.
Iheanacho has played a total of 28 games so far this season, including 17 appearances as a substitute. Despite this, he only has a poor return of five goals and five assists.
•Iwobi, Iheanacho, and Ndidi are involved in the English Premier League relegation fight. Southampton’s Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu also suffered relegation. Onuachu did not score or create an assist in any of his 11 games for the club throughout the season.
Cyriel Dessers of Cremonese, who played in 26 games and contributed six goals and two assists, was also demoted from Serie A after a successful season.
Chidera Ejuke of Hertha BSC and John Donald of Elche CF were both demoted to the second division this season. Ejuke played in 20 league games for Hertha and earned zero goals and three assists. Donald played for Elche.
