In collaboration with the Nigerian Army, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has distributed Food Care Packs to 300 IDP households in Plateau State’s Wase Local Government Area.

Prior to the distribution, the Federal Commissioner expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in attacks, particularly those in the Penu community on Tuesday night, and prayed to God to prevent future attacks.

Sulaiman-Ibrahim was represented by Dr Kangiwa, the Deputy Director of the Commission’s IDPs Department.

“We’ve come to give the Persons of Concern the Zero Hunger Food Packs. I’m sure you’re aware that one of the Sustainable Development Goals is to eliminate hunger.

“However, the goal of Zero Hunger is to eradicate hunger in Nigeria and the rest of the world.”

“So, if not to eradicate, at the very least to alleviate some of the sufferings of our persons of concern through these small food care packs,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim said.
The Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Farouk Yahaya, who was represented by Second-Leutenant Janet Obolo, spoke at the event and praised the distribution of the Zero Hunger Food Care Packs to those in need.

“From what I’ve seen in Wase Local Government, they’re in desperate need.” It would, in my opinion, go a long way toward alleviating their hunger. I’m sure they’d appreciate it and the Commission and the federal government.

“We will continue to work with NCFRMI and other relevant stakeholders to help and facilitate interventions for people in need,” Yahaya said.

Ahmed Idris, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and a member of the Wase Federal Constituency, praised NCFRMI and the Nigerian Army for distributing the Zero Hunger Food Care Packs.
