Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost public trust.
Garba was alleged to have revealed this during an interview on AIT’s Focus Nigeria programme.
According to the APC chairman, the PDP is no longer an Iroko tree, but a cucumber.
According to Garba, the PDP is on the verge of self-destruction, and the party will fail to win anything in the 2027 election.
He stated, “Looking at the allegory of a tree can tell you whether a party or a society is growing.” You have roots, you grow and produce fruits, you release seeds, and they begin to grow again.
“But now that all of the branches have dried up and the leaves have dropped, they are returning to the roots.

“An Iroko tree has a 100-year lifespan, but PDP is not an Iroko tree; I believe it is a cucumber because it is no longer alive.
“To the best of my knowledge, the PDP has lost the public’s trust, so I don’t want to categorize them as anything in the upcoming 2027 election.”
“The party’s self-destruction is caused by PDP members. You saw the conflict between the FCT Minister and a former Vice President who was present, as well as the internal difficulties that arose during their last convention; there is a lot of misunderstanding within the PDP.
“They really caused their self-destruction and that is why they are now organising themselves in a nostalgic mode to replay the game of 1998, 1999 and see the possibility of if they will ever survive.”
