Akinyemi Oluwafemi, a student at Kings College in Lagos State, was named the best student in the just completed West African Senior School Certificate Examination in Nigeria.
Remember that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) issued the results for this year on November 22nd.
Mr Patrick Areghan, Head of the Council’s Nigeria National Office, said in a statement that 65.24 percent of candidates received credit or higher in a minimum of five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

According to Areghan, out of 1,560,261 million applicants who took the exam, 1,398,370 million, or 89.62 percent, received credit or above in a minimum of five disciplines (i.e., with or without English Language and/or Mathematics).
Akinyemi Oluwafemi, on the other hand, received nine distinctions in the examination, according to his school.
Data processing, Economics, Mathematics, English language, Civil Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer studies were among the subjects he wrote on.
