President Bola Tinubu has received praise from female Nasarawa State stakeholders for naming nine women as ministers.
On Thursday, the women and a few young people participated in a solidarity march from Lafia City Hall to the state ministry for local government and chieftaincy affairs.
Speaking on behalf of the organisation, Mrs. Habiba Balarabe-Suleiman, Director-General, Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency, noted that President Tinubu’s nomination of nine women as minister designates was unparalleled in the nation’s history.
Given their background and antecedents, Balarabe-Suleiman expressed confidence that all the women appointed will perform well and contribute to the president’s theme of “renew hope.”

She also urged the president to give the women sensitive portfolios so they could express themselves in keeping with their individual professions.
The spokesperson notably complimented Tinubu for selecting Nasarawa State native Mrs. Imaan Suleiman as his ministerial nominee.
Suleiman, according to her, would bring honour to the state and help the president fulfil his promises to Nigerians during the campaign.
She described the nominee for the ministerial position as “an amazon with potential, who does not shy away from responsibility.”
Balarabe-Suleiman also praised Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his administration’s pro-women stance and for encouraging one of them to be chosen as a state minister.
The Head of Service for the State, Abigail Waya, stated that the president has shown his commitment to advancing everyone in his government by nominating nine women.
